Reporting to the Plant Manager, this senior member of the THI leadership team is responsible for the operations for a manufacturing shop in Houston, TX.  This leader will manage the development and implementation of the overall production and manufacturing strategy in the plant, including plant metrics, resource allocation, maintenance and safety programs, budget development, and capital and process improvement projects.  The Operations Manager will be tasked with driving profitable growth at the facility.

Key performance indicators include: Safety Performance, Cost of Poor Quality, Productivity, on time delivery, EBIT and Working Capital optimization.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

    Administer and monitor the plant variable cost budget including allocating resources and approving expenditures.

  • Manage, develop and implement plant goals and objectives, adjust and modify operations as appropriate to achieve business objectives, and ensure measurements are met for a site consisting of between 25+ machines.

  • Manage the development, analysis, and review of a variety of production reports to improve costs, employee commitment, safety, production lines, quality, efficiency, cycle times, volumes, and implements management changes as required.

  • Lead, recruit, develop and coach the team, consisting of supervisors, operators, maintenance techs, engineer, inspector, administration, and quote specialist

  • Foster a culture of change and customer centricity through dedicated lean process improvements and leveraged communications of performance.

  • Support business’s Sales and Operating Planning (S&OP) with backlog, inventory and expected capacity.

Qualifications: 

  • BS in Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience as Department Manager or Senior Manufacturing Engineer leading a team of exempt and non-exempt employees

  • Specific experience and established professional network in the Oil & Gas industry

  • 3-5 years’ experience with cross functional disciplines (Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Project Management, and Finance)

  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing systems

  • Change Agent with the ability to lead through vision & implementation; develops solutions thorough understanding of business processes, issues and concerns.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Excellent leadership, influencing skills, and team player attitude.
