Campus EMT/Nurse Safety Admin
Coordinates and provides first aid-emergency care for injuries and medical illnesses on site for employees. Manages Workers Compensation cases, Clinic Operations and Medical and Confined Space Rescue Teams (MRT & CSRT). Supports the Safety, Health and Environmental function as well as local management by assistance with injuries, illnesses and return to work issues (case management).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Record & manage Workers Comp cases—Assure Employees receive proper benefits and medical care. Insure compliance with the TWCC rules. Maintain contract with the patient and local management. Insure smooth flow of services to patient and medical providers. Manage facility light duty program. Insure compliance with IBEW and IAM contract related to W/C issues and medical care. Coordinate case management with W/C Ins. Carrier.
Record all work related injuries and illnesses—Initiate the accident investigation process. Manage and assist Supervisors and manager with initial completion and return of accident investigations to Health /Safety Manager. Populate OSHA log for submittal on an on-going basis.
Provide emergency treatment for injuries—Provide care and diagnosis within scope of the facility up to an EMT-P level of care, including arranging for appro0priate transportation to the appropriate treatment facility.
Manage medical treatment of the clinic and coordinate operations of the Medical Response and Confined Space Rescue teams—Coordinate emergency responses, training and compliance of programs related to OSHA standards and Standard of Care for Emergency Services determined by the Houston facility EH&S Leader.
Coordinate or conduct vaccinations, hearing, respirator, and vision, training and testing for facility programs—Annual testing or as required by facility programs or conditions.
Maintain condition of Clinic, Rescue Truck, maintain and stock First Aid and Rescue Equipment and Supplies – Coordinate or performing PMs maintenance inspection, repair or replacement or equipment and supplies to support Clinic and Emergency Response Operations for facility processes.
Facilitate campus Drug & Alcohol testing process—Train and certify to complete regular random testing and facility for cause testing as well as administer any follow up protocol for non-negative findings.
Provide health and wellness program—Basic health checks, provide information abut medical conditions, prescription medications assistance with locating medical care or physicians.
Support Safety Operations and processes—Coordinate or assist with investigations and support other safety and health related issues as directed.
Maintain medical files on active Company Employees—Update medical files as information is provided.
Conduct new hire orientation – Provide return to work and new employee orientation training, as required.
Maintain Visitor PPE Supplies – Ensure visitor PPE closet is properly stocked with necessary supplies.
Reduce injuries: reduce Workers Comp costs, maintain positive interface to assist Employees/patients with Workers comp issues and wellness programs. Improve “Standard of Care” and Emergency Response Operations.
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, management, medical care facilities and WC providers
Must be organized, detail focused and capable to project manage programs and actions for individuals and the company.
Must be comfortable interacting with, coordinating, and challenging medical personnel who will be assessing and treating company employees.
Must be comfortable researching and negotiating supplier for clinic and campus services.
Experience in training & certifying EMS and Medical Response Team (MRT) and Confined Space Rescue Teams (CSRT) and other Safety related programs.
Must be either a licensed paramedic or nurse practitioner with 5+ years of experience.
Preferred experience with Workers Comp processing and management as general knowledge of manufacturing Safety & Health practices and procedures as well as a working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
